An Heirloom Partnership: Holly Slay Celebration Plates for Petite Keep
Holly Slay, the artist behind Holly Slay Handmade, has charmed countless families with her unique, hand-painted ceramic pieces. Now, through a special collaboration, she has created a set of limited-edition Celebration Plates exclusively for Petite Keep, designed to live alongside your most treasured memories.
From Home Studio to Family Heirloom
For Holly Slay, creativity has always been a family affair. Operating out of her home art studio in Mississippi, where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and Boston Terrier, she transformed a personal passion into a thriving business.
It all started with her children. "My daughters were my first source of inspiration; I painted sweet ceramic tea sets and birthday plates for them when they were little," Holly recalls. These pieces weren’t just dish-ware; they were central to cherished afternoon tea parties and family celebrations. Recognizing the joy these items brought, Holly was inspired to share her art with others.

Wanting to help create similar memories for other families, I opened Holly Slay Handmade. Over the years it’s blossomed into a thriving family business.
Today, the business runs out of a small backyard studio where Holly hand-paints, glazes, and fires every piece to order, ensuring each ceramic creation is made with lead-free, non-toxic materials.

A Shared Commitment to Sentimentality
The collaboration between Holly Slay Handmade and Petite Keep was a natural pairing, rooted in a mutual commitment to preserving meaningful moments.
"I’ve been following Petite Keep for several years and always loved their commitment to preserving memories in such a lovely way," she explains. The connection was clear, as she often saw her own plates tucked inside customers’ Petite Keep Trunks on social media. After connecting with the team, the exclusive Celebration Plate designs were born.

The inspiration for these special pieces came directly from the beloved PK Signature Prints themselves - Touch of Blue and Spring In St. Louis. Holly also created a limited-edition Cookies For Santa plate that can be used as part of the yearly tradition so many hold dear.

"The PK Signature Prints are so timeless and classic. It was an honor to paint unique pieces that coordinated with the beautiful prints Petite Keep designs," Holly says.

Celebrating the Fabric of Family Life
Holly's pieces resonate deeply because they are designed not just for grand occasions, but for the everyday moments that truly form the fabric of family.
As her daughters have grown up, Holly has gained an even greater appreciation for the fleeting nature of time. This perspective drives her artistic purpose.
I love sharing my pieces with other families, helping to encourage them to pause and celebrate — the big and the small. Those moments make up the fabric of our families.

Holly emphasizes that the storytelling is built into the process. Since every plate is hand-painted to order, each is unique, just like every family’s story. This dedication to individuality mirrors Petite Keep’s ethos, where every Trunk is uniquely customized. Knowing her art will be preserved alongside other keepsakes is a source of pride. "It’s an absolute joy to know that my work will be carefully stowed inside Petite Keep Trunks, along with the family’s other sentimental items," she notes.

Ultimately, Holly’s hope is that her Celebration Plates become cherished tools for creating new memories. She envisions simple, heartfelt moments:
"I hope parents add candles to sprinkle donuts placed on a PK Celebration plate and sing happy birthday to bed-headed little toddlers as they wake up a year older. I hope families pull out old favorite recipes and spend time together baking cookies for Santa... And I hope they’re a reminder to always celebrate the big and the small."
