Curated Conversations: Bridal Traditions with Neely and Chloe Burch of Neely & Chloe

Wedding season is upon us! To celebrate the launch of our latest collaboration with Neely & Chloe, we sat down with co-founders Neely and Chloe Burch to reminisce on some of the most special details and memories from each of their wedding days. If you are a bride-to-be, all the dreamy inspiration you'll need for your big day is here! It is our pleasure to introduce you to Neely and Chloe!

Tell us a little bit about your favorite memories from your special day:

  • Favorite Memory?
    • CB: The flash mob that my sister organized! I was completely surprised.
    • NB: My husband and I were supposed to get married in October of 2020 so we had a bit of a shuffle when it came to planning a wedding!! Our original wedding plan— Aix en Provence in France— was swapped to a smaller, more intimate ceremony and party at my parents house in Philadelphia with just our wedding parties and immediate family. It was intimate and personal (and too much fun). Our ceremony was so personal and full of giggles— We had a new little puppy at the time who decided to get *invovled* in the ceremony by nipping at the reverends Robes.
  • Favorite Detail?
    • CB: My mom and I worked so hard on the tablescapes - looking back on the photos and details of the tables makes me so happy!
    • NB: We styled the tent and tables with items from my parents house. I still think about the green painted lamps we put on the bar and the little sitting area we built.
  • Favorite Keepsake?
    • CB: My veil.
    • NB: My little birdcage veil.

You opted for a spin on traditional when choosing your wedding gown with a pop of color and we love to see it! Tell us about the moment you said "yes!" to the dress.

CB: I had originally found a Carolina Herrera dress that had a green belt and I absolutely loved that detail. While that silhouette wasn't exactly right for me, I knew I wanted to have green somewhere in my dress. We worked with Mark Ingram, a very close family friend, to pick out a Lela Rose dress. He added the off the shoulder piece as well as the green ribbon around my waist. I wanted the green to continue throughout my whole outfit so he added some beautiful green embroidery to my veil.

NB: For our celebration in France, I fell in love with Monique Lhullier’s flower covered gown, it was a second wedding of sorts so I had had my white moment one year earlier. I couldn’t have done it without Mark Ingram, our wedding dress angel who has been best friends with my mom since their shop girl days working at Bonwitt Teller back in the 80s. For my Philadelphia little ceremony I wanted something classic and elegant, I found an inexpensive sheer white dress with Swiss dots from a Spanish website and had a slip made to go with it.

What were your wedding colors and how did you choose them?

CB: Green and White! I got married in Palm Beach and I wanted to keep the color theme very simple and classic to Palm Beach. Lots of greenery, white orchids, etc.

NB: Blues and greens pulled from Soane’s Dianthus Chintz in Lapis.

What piece of advice would you give to a bride-to-be today?

CB: Before my wedding someone told me the three most important things were 1. The couple was extremely happy, 2. A good band, and 3. Getting drinks the night of the wedding wasn't difficult - NOTHING else matters! No one will notice if the small little details aren't exactly what you want

NB: Quirks make the whole thing more memorable! The hiccups and issues that cropped up along the way that forced us to get creative left us with some of our favorite memories. We were supposed to be married in a little chapel at our Church, but couldn’t at the 11th hour because of covid restrictions. Our outdoor ceremony was one of my favorite things about the wedding.

What's a favorite tradition you and your husband share?

CB: Our favorite time of the day is early morning coffee! We love to wake up before our son and have 30 minutes of time just the two of us!

What special keepsakes from your wedding day are you packing in your Neely and Chloe for Petite Keep Trunk?

CB: My wedding shoes, my veil, all the paper products from the wedding, the note my husband wrote me on our wedding day

NB: All my paper goods— I made most of them myself! Our ring pillow, my veil, and a few little letters we received from our family.

We love how the Neely and Chloe for Petite Keep collection includes several travel-ready leather goods and accessories. Speaking of travel, where did you honeymoon and what was your favorite memory from the trip?

CB: We went to Mexico! We were originally supposed to go to Bali but it was covid so the borders weren't open. It was incredible. My husband and I both love Mexican food. We were so happy to sit back and relax with a margarita.

NB: We did two little mini moons— the first year to California, started in Santa Barbara and worked out way up to Napa, and after our wedding in France we popped to Mallorca for 5 or 6 days. Both trips started with a little R&R— we were tired!! And then exploring with a side of great food and decadent cocktails.

How are you using your Neely and Chloe for Petite Keep collection pieces for travel, keepsake storage, and beyond?

CB: The packing cubes are amazing for both travel and keepsake storage (get them embroidered for that special touch)! I love all the different sizes. The vanity case is perfect for travel (especially your honeymoon!) The luggage tag is perfect to add your new initials too and same with the card case!

NB: I hate to travel without my packing cubes!! We’ve become completely dependent on them as a family. My PK cubes are perfect for the summer trips we have coming up this year.

The Neely and Chloe for Petite Keep collection is a true product of creative collaboration. Where do you find inspiration in the design process?

CB: Usually from past experiences or from our mom. My mom has incredible, timeless taste so we can always turn to her for inspiration!

NB: Everywhere really!! I am sure Chloe has the same answer to this, but time and time again we go back to our mom as the center of our aesthetic inspiration.
