The Making of Sylvia's Summer

Hi, all! Clara, Senior Director of Brand, here!
The idea for our newest PK Signature Print, Sylvia’s Summer, began the way many of our best ideas do - by listening to you, our community! We heard from so many of you that you were dreaming of a new, pink floral print - one that felt timeless and traditional, but still sweet with a touch of whimsy.
With that direction in mind, I began creating a mood board to capture the aesthetic I wanted to bring to life. As a huge fan of traditional chinoiserie designs, I knew I wanted to head in that direction! I wanted the colors, florals, and tone to reflect something deeply timeless - soft and feminine. When I shared the vision and mood board with Lindsay, our Founder and CEO, we found ourselves in a conversation about family trips, childhood summer memories, and the memories we hope to create with our own children this summer.

"At it's core, this print isn't just about florals and classic chinoiserie details - it's about the shared experiences that connect us all."

That's when the development really started! The sweet smell of summer lemonade, handpicked flowers in chubby fingers, the way time slows down when you’re with the people you love. It felt like the perfect reflection of our Petite Keep ethos and our tagline: Memories in the Making.

As we continued shaping the concept with our artist group, Lindsay began sharing stories and photos of her own grandmother, Sylvia. The way she spoke about her - joyful, full of love and wisdom - embodied everything this print represents. It was clear what we were going to name this design: Sylvia’s Summer.

I'm so proud to share this Signature Print with you, and even more honored to tie it to such a meaningful legacy! Scroll down to see a few of Lindsay’s personal photos with her grandmother - the woman behind the name and the heart of this print.

xx,
