Calder Clark’s Must-Have for Every Bride
When it comes to celebrating life’s most meaningful moments, no one does it quite like Calder Clark. Known for her refined Southern style and impeccable attention to detail, Calder has built a name as one of the most sought-after event planners, curating unforgettable weddings and gatherings. We chatted with Calder about her advice for brides, how she uses her Petite Keep Trunks for heirloom storage—and even how they play a role in her favorite hobby!
You work with so many brides planning their special day. What advice would you give them on preserving their wedding memories?
The goal is to remember that anything you preserve could be tender, sweet, even hilarious for years to come, and time passes swiftly. I kept a series of lovely fabric-covered hatboxes brimming with little mementos, and we get them out every couple of years on our anniversary and rifle through them over a bottle of wine. Some of these memories are just as rich as the photos, to be honest, and you want a secure-but-lovely way to keep them from aging poorly . . . insert Petite Keep! I love that PK Trunks are gorgeous, locking, and super lightweight given their quality of craftsmanship.

We know you're a mother to teenagers. We'd love to hear how you're using your kids' Trunks!
My daughter’s trunk houses all of her baby dolls and doll clothing, which is going to be a welcome surprise when her little cousins come to visit this Spring. I already anticipate lots of chunky toddler hands reaching in to find the treasure. My son’s trunk is for sure his keepsake collection of awards, medals, Harry Potter wands, playing cards, super balls, and 10 summers’ worth of summer camp mementos; I know he loves it because every so often, I’ll find him in his room with it all spread out on his bed.

Your needlepoint work is exquisite! How do you store and protect your finished ornaments?
In my Petite Keep, OF COURSE! I have a gorgeous Grand trunk filled with my ornaments and there’s still a little room to grow. I don’t even pre-bag them or have them wrapped in tissue because the inside is padded and lined so beautifully that I have zero worry. If I outgrow it, I get to buy another Petite Keep, duh!

As a highly organized wedding planner, what tips do you have for brides on efficiently storing and organizing their wedding mementos?
A bride’s best bet is to snap up a Mini, Petite, and Grand in her favorite color (or colors!) so she has the capacity to start stowing treasures from the get-go. Matchbooks, coasters, honeymoon memorabilia: she’s going to want a gorgeous spot in which to stow the goods.
