Meet Megan Trottier, Founder of Oh My Mahjong!

 

Q: For anyone new to the world of Oh My Mahjong, can you share a little about yourself and how OMM came to be?

Absolutely! I’ve always loved bringing people together, and Mahjong totally captured my heart: the strategy, the energy, the laughter around the table. But I wanted the game to feel as joyful and stylish as the moments it creates. That’s how Oh My Mahjong was born. What started as a passion for beautiful design and meaningful connection turned into a brand dedicated to making Mahjong accessible, fun, and seriously chic. Now we get to create pieces that spark joy, start traditions, and make every game night feel like a celebration! 

 

Q: Mahjong has seen such a resurgence in recent years. What do you think draws women back to this classic game?

Mahjong just brings people together! It’s the ultimate excuse to put down our phones, gather around a pretty tablescape, and actually connect. Plus, it’s become the new standard in entertaining, your tilescape says everything!

 

Q: One of the most special elements of this collaboration is the custom Moonlight Mahjong print designed for our Trunk.

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the print? What details should people look for when they open it?

We went with a soft, southern-inspired palette. It’s filled with intricate details, all those little touches we obsess over, mixed with a soft, feminine feel. It’s elegant, charming, and a total love letter to color and design.

 

Q: How do you plan to use your collaboration Trunk in your own home?

Who would it make the perfect gift for?

Oh, it’s the perfect gift for the “Mahj girl who wants to store it all.” I’ll be keeping all my special Mahjong treasures inside. Anything sentimental or just too fabulous to stash anywhere else.

 

Q: What OMM products do you plan to store in your keepsake Trunk?

I’m keeping all the originals, the pieces that started this whole journey, and a mix of the OMM products that have become staples along the way. It’s going to be my little OMM time capsule.

Q: How do you envision the Oh My Mahjong customer building a tradition around her PK Trunk?

I picture it becoming that special piece she loves to open. It’s beautiful, functional, and full of personality. Every time she lifts the lid, she gets that little spark of excitement, seeing her favorite Mahjong pieces and the gorgeous trunk they live in. It is also something that she is able to pass down to her daughter or granddaughters one day.
